Industry rules per IATA Resolution 302 will become effective August 31st 2011, changing how baggage allowances are calculated.  For itineraries ticketed August 31st and beyond, allowances will be processed per the Most Significant Carrier (MSC), which is generally the Operating Carrier for code-share flights.  For travel that includes a US origin or destination, US Department of Transportation rules take precedence and MSC is the Marketing Carrier.
